** Press Release July 1, 2009 - Pinwheel GT withdraws from Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE competition **Pinwheel GT is a small automotive technology development group based in Atlanta, GA lead by founder Matthew Williams. Pinwheel GT is focused on it's revolutionary new engine design that takes advantage of advances in nano surface technology to deliver remarkable efficiency and performance. The engine is a hybrid compressed air/electric design. The system has a unique atmospheric CO2 scrubber subsystem which plays a role in engine performance, but could also play a significant role in reduction of CO2, the most abundant greenhouse gas. This reduction capability pushes the vehicle into a new classification that could be described as a negative emissions vehicle.Pinwheel GT is a registered team in the Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE competition. Our main objective is to showcase this technology to the world and the auto industry. We are pushing the engine design to deliver performance with current auto manufacturing process. A vehicle that can perform better than 100 MPGe, but can still be manufactured with pressed steel, and with a weight range and aerodynamic coefficients similar to current small sedan models. Pinwheel GT plans to release information on this revolutionary design in spring 2010 as the team readies for the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE competition.
